Michael L. Thomas is founder and manager of TIC Capital, LLC. Mr. Thomas is responsible for all property acquisition and operation activities. He has 26 years of brokerage, development, and acquisition experience in a full spectrum of product types, including retail, office, flex-tech, industrial, senior living communities and lodging properties. After graduating from California State University, Fullerton in 1980, Mr. Thomas worked for Grubb & Ellis Company as Senior Vice President and was a top sales and leasing associate through 1995. He joined Security Capital Group in 1996 and was responsible for Homestead Village lodging brand development activities in Southern California. In 1997, Mr. Thomas joined Marriott International as a Vice President, Development and was responsible for ground-up development activities in its select service brand lodging and Senior Living Services divisions in the western region. In 2002, he joined ICI Development Company as Vice President of Acquisitions & Development, specializing in Retail Power Centers and Neighborhood Shopping Centers. In 2003, Mr. Thomas joined the DBSI Group of Companies as Director of Acquisitions and in 2004 was promoted to Vice President of Acquisitions. During his time with DBSI, Mr. Thomas was responsible for the acquisition of over 100 tenant in common properties. Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in market analysis, site selection, negotiation of purchase contracts and coordination of all due diligence efforts, asset & property management required to underwrite and operate the broad spectrum of properties in TIC Capital’s portfolio.
